Official Statement and Prayers Following the Incident in Cambridgeshire.

ree

The Old Catholic Apostolic Church in Swindon expresses its deep sorrow and heartfelt concern following the shocking incident on a train in Cambridgeshire, where several people have been injured in a stabbing attack.

Our prayers are with all those affected the victims, their families, and everyone who witnessed or responded to this distressing event. We especially hold in our hearts those who are now receiving medical care, praying for their healing and comfort.

We commend the swift and courageous actions of the emergency services and transport staff who placed themselves in harm’s way to protect others and bring aid in the midst of chaos.

At times like this, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the need for compassion, understanding, and peace in our communities. Violence of any kind has no place among us, and we call upon all people of goodwill to continue working together to foster love over hatred and unity over division.

A Prayer for the Victims and the Community

Loving God,We bring before You all who have been injured or affected by the attack in Cambridgeshire.Surround them with Your healing presence,Bring comfort to those who grieve,And strength to those who care for the wounded.

Be with the emergency responders and medical teams,That they may serve with wisdom, courage, and compassion.Bless the communities shaken by this tragedy,That peace and hope may take root once more.

Through Christ our Lord,Amen.

A Prayer for Peace

God of all mercy,In a world where violence too often silences love,Make us instruments of Your peace.Where there is hatred, let us sow love;Where there is despair, hope; And where there is darkness, light.

Help us to see Your image in every person,That we may live together as one human family,Bound by Your grace and compassion. Amen.

The Old Catholic Apostolic Church, Swindon stands in solidarity with the people of Cambridgeshire and all those affected by this terrible event.May the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in the days ahead.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5
