Clergy Licencing.

ree

Clergy of the Old Catholic Apostolic Church for the most part serve as part-time and unpaid (non-stipended) and are dispersed throughout the dioceses and nations. That makes the church a voluntary organisation, and indeed by the church constitution we are forbidden to receive or give money. However, in order to ensure standards and discipline - particularly around safeguarding , the church 'licences' clergy.

The licence allows monitoring of ministerial activity, and appropriate

direction to prevent the clergy person being engaged in a ministry that

might be inappropriate due to past history for example, or lack of

experience in a certain, or a set of situations, or when there is a

need for additional training or oversight.

Clergy as volunteers and others who exercise any public facing ministry have to show their disclosure or criminal records check, along with up to date suitable safeguarding and other relevant training.

Their ministry plan identifies how they will exercise their ministry and identify any risks for which additional training or qualifications may be required. This oversight is regularly reviewed and a Clergy Licence is shown on their web-page.

Only persons with a Clergy Licence logo on the bottom right corner of their web-page On this website only that links to a current licence are permitted to perform active ministerial functions.

The licencing status of each clergy member can be checked by clicking the logo at the bottom of their directory page on this website. Only the status on this website can be used to ensure their validity.
